On Aug 20th, "Portable Mist" was ranked #1 on both Skin Care category and the entire Beauty/Cosmetics category as the most searched keyword.
It suddenly spiked on Aug 20th: there was also no click found according to the click trend.
The reason why the Portable Mist keyword spiked is because it was introduced on a morning TV show "Full of Leisure of Ladies (그녀들의 여유만만)", a lifestyle show targeting women in their 30's broadcasted on KBS2.
On Aug 20th, panels introduced their beauty tips and items under the topic "Top 7 Beauty Items for summer".
During the session, an announcer Kim Bo-min introduced a "Portable Mist" as her favorite.
She said she "prepared it for stressed and tired skin in summer" and "with 60 seconds of application, it delivers a perfect moisturizing effect with its foggy-like nano spray function".
She also introduced the portable mist's another great function "Anion Vibrating Massage" which generated tremendous impact.
After the show, many people searched online to find out what product it was.
Because of some misleading information, a Chinese brand Nanum's Mist Moisture Facial Massager had been wrongly known as the item introduced on the TV show.
It was so quick for people to searched it and purchased it: the Nanum's Mist was ranked #1 best seller on Beauty category of a huge e-commerce marketplace "11st" and #66 on Beauty Appliance category on another e-marketplace Auction on Aug 20th.
On Instagram, some said the item was Elaroa's Plasma Handy Mist, which was misleading as well.
KBS2TV announced that the item was Winston's Dr.Winston Moisture Booster on its official website.
Other products introduced on the TV show were ranked on most searched keywords on the same day as well.
